At the end of October, I began re-reading the book Prayer and Service, the biography of Blessed Josaphata.  Along with the reading, I’ve also been listening to the tapes of the SSMI Retreat of July 3-9, 2000, held at Villa Maria Retreat Centre, Winnipeg, MB. and conducted by Father Erik Riechers, SAC (Pallotine Fathers).  The 16 conferences were based on his insights of Blessed Josaphata’s spirituality and consecrated life.  His obvious admiration of our foundress and enthusiasm in presenting her life, came from studying and reflecting on Sr. Dominic’s inspired writings in Prayer and Service.

This month of November has been special for me, as I’ve been reflecting, pondering, and honouring the life and legacy of our foundress Blessed Josaphata, with a deeper love and gratitude.

In our community home in Edmonton our “Christmas” cactus has surprised us this year with profuse blossoms and buds on the tip of every leaf.  We’ve placed this flowering cactus in the chapel to honour St. Joseph at the end of His Year December 8. 2021 and also to brighten the corner with the icon of Blessed Josaphata, for her feast day on November 20th.

Blessings and Happy Feast Day!
