On April 25, 2021, Bishop David Motiuk joined the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate community in Mundare, Alberta for a celebration to “officially open” their Novitiate. Following the Divine Liturgy, Bishop David welcomed Sister Anne Pidskalny the Directress, and the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate candidate Shelley Mackie. As part of the ceremony Bishop David blessed them, the Novitiate and the classroom. The event truly was a wonderful celebration of the Sisters returning to “their roots”.
A Novitiate is a place for training and preparing those who are discerning their call to religious life.
