On Saturday, June 27, 2021, the Sisters in Toronto and the area gathered together in the Provincial Home for a special celebration. Three Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate marked significant milestones in their commitment to responding to God’s call.
The celebration honored the Jubilees of:
Sr. Florentine Smysniuk (75 years as a Sister)
Sr. Ambrose Stachiw (70 years as a Sister)
Sr. Teresa Lesyk (65 years as a Sister)
Father Bohdan Swystun celebrated Divine Liturgy in Sisters’ Chapel. Before receiving the Holy Eucharist, the three Jubilarians renewed their vows.
“Almighty and Eternal God, I (name and surname), vow to Your Divine Majesty obedience, chastity and poverty in the Congregation of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, in the presence of my co-Sisters until my death, according to the Constitution of this Congregation. So help me, God, and the Holy Gospel.” Except from renewal of vows.
After Divine Liturgy, the Sisters gathered in the foyer where Provincial Superior Christine Syrotynsky gave greetings to each Sister. Sister Janet Kozak presented the Jubilarians with roses. The community enjoyed a meal together, after which the Jubilarians were presented with gifts and more “Mnohaya Litas”. May God grant them many more years of health and happiness!
“All the credit goes to God. He gave me the grace of perseverance; it is all His doing. To him belongs all praise, glory, thanksgiving and adoration now and forever!”– Sr. Teresa Lesyk
