Dear Sisters, With a humble heart, I turn to you to ask for spiritual help for myself and my husband. We have been married for 13 years. We have no children (not by choice: we received the sacrament of marriage when I was 43 and my husband was 41). My husband has not participated in the life of the Church for many years, whereas in 2019 I consecrated myself to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary according to the method of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort. After our wedding, I discovered that my husband comes from a family in which the parents were not married in the Church. He and his brothers were baptized and received First Communion thanks to the help of the sisters; I trust they also received the sacrament of Confirmation, but I am not certain. According to my discernment (and after speaking with an exorcist priest),
my husband is deeply tormented by the evil one. He has a strong aversion to sacred images (he destroys them – this tendency intensifies but calms when I pray fervently). … [The details of this request are more extensive than necessary for a post. I have taken the liberty of truncating it. – WS] … Additionally, I ask for prayers for reconciliation and harmony in my family and in my husband’s family. For my parents, who are over 80 years old and are divorced – for the grace of reconciliation and of finding God again in their lives through the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin, and for a good Christian death for both of them. I thank the Lord for allowing me to write to you, dear Sisters. May God reward you abundantly!
