Sunday June26,2022 St. John The Baptist Parish in Perth Australia, was the scene of three events, St John the Baptist Praznyk, Solemn Communion and Farewell to Sister Nicodema (Muriel) Zemliak SSMI for her 20 years of service in Perth Community.
Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Bishop Mykola Bychok C.Ss.R. At the close of the Liturgy Bishop Mykola Bychok read a (Hromota) in appreciation to Sister Nicodema SSMI for her many years of dedicated service in the Catholic Eparchy of St Peter and Paul and especially in the St John the Baptist Parish in Perth, Western Australia.
At the dinner Fr Ihor Holowka thanked Sister Nicodema for her many years of service and presented her with St Joseph Icon which was written by our Assistant Priest Fr. Richard Charlwood. Sr. Nicodema thanked Bishop Mykola Bychok for his warm and kind greeting, She also thanked Fr. Ihor, the parishioners and families of the Communicants. It was a pleasure for her to work in this parish, visiting the sick, those in aged care, and teaching Catechism. Sister shared that they will always be remember in her prayers.
