Sister Aloysius Safranowiz celebrates 100 years of life


A 100th Birthday for Sister Aloysius was celebrated on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Home in Mundare, AB. Sr. Aloysius’ actual birthday was the following day, February 17.

Father Seraphim Hryhoruk, OSBM, celebrated a Divine Liturgy of thanksgiving, and gave her a special blessing after Mass. A buffet lunch followed. Sr. Martha Zulyniak, Superior, welcomed everyone and thanked them for joining in the Celebration. Among our guests were 20 members of Sr. Aloysius’ family.

Jacquie Fenske, MLA for Fort Saskatchwan-Vegreville joined our celebration, giving greetings on behalf of the province of Alberta. Sr. Patricia Lacey, Provincial Superior, also read the greetings from Our Superior General, Sr. Theresa Slota. Irvin Krezanoski, Sr. Aloysius’s nephew spoke on behalf of the family, gave a beautiful tribute. His Excellency, Bishop David Motiuk, was unable to attend, but sent greetings and blessings. Mr. Mike Saric, Mayor of Mundare, came in the evening and brought greetings from the town of Mundare.

Sr. Aloysius thanked all for preparing the celebration, and thanked the family, friends and Sisters who came and made the celebration so Special.
