Reliquary Icon of Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska on Pilgrimage Across Canada

In August 2013, Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk blessed a commissioned icon of our Co-foundress, Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska, at the Patriarchal Sobor in Kiev. It is a pilgrimage icon with an embedded first-class relic of Blessed Josaphata. This icon was written in anticipation of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, in 2017. The icon has already travelled to Argentina, Brazil and the United States. It arrived in Canada on January 16, 2015 as part of its worldwide tour to countries where our SSMIs are serving. It will remain in Canada until mid- August 2015 when it will be taken to Poland.

The icon will travel to various parishes, schools, senior homes, and camps, where, in a spiritual sense, Blessed Josaphata will be experiencing the mission of our Sisters, and at the same time we will be experiencing the graces that come from having among us a person who is on her way to sainthood.
