Calling interested women choristers ... !

The choir is having a break over Easter solemnities. Practices will resume after the Sunday of St. Thomas (Divine Mercy Sunday).

Interested in singing liturgical music? Do you have choral experience?

We are looking for interested female choristers within reasonable travelling distance to Toronto, to learn and possibly record a composition of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, as a project to celebrate the 125th Jubilee of the founding of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate. The composition, by Sr. Christine Dudych, SSMI, is written as variations on a theme by the late Sr. Juvenalia Kaniuk, SSMI, honouring our foundress, Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska, SSMI. The work had been sung in excerpts only, at our Annual Marian Pilgrimage in Ancaster, ON, in 2012, but never in its complete form.

The range of the work is from Eb below middle C to high G. A sample of the Отче Наш may be heard on this page, in any of the clips. (Note: You will hear strings, and then vocal.)

Interested singers may contact Sr. Christine by email, by clicking the emblem below or emailing christinedudych@gmail.com. Please include your:

Singers may be asked to arrange a private audition with Sr. Christine. For either audition or practices, DO NOT USE ANY SCENTED PRODUCTS! Sr. Christine has fragrance sensitivities. Other choristers may also have. It is a standard practice for choristers to not used fragrances of any sort.
